Renovation of beach promenade

The 900-meter-long Strandpromenade in the city of Sønderborg, underwent significant, hard-needed renovation of its retaining wall and pavement in 2016.
The wall dates back to 1848 and was established during the First Schleswig War, 1848-1850. The project involved renovating the wall facing the water with new granite slabs. New 20 cm granite coping (top of wall) to accommodate the expected higher sea levels.
