Tileadhesive Combi

Cement-based flexible tile adhesive C2, T, E, S1

Product description

Marlon Tileadhesive Combi is a cement-based synthetically reinforced tile lime with excellent flexibility that requires only the addition of water at the work site. When cured, the compound is water and frost-resistant.

Benefits
  • Good flexibility, for use indoors and outdoors
  • Water and frost-resistant
  • Contains reinforcing synthetic additive
  • Pre-mixed tile adhesive, just add water
Areas of application

Marlon Tileadhesive Combi is used for laying ceramic tiles, slate, natural stone, glass wool or Rockwool on surfaces of concrete, putty, floor vinyl, gypsum board, existing tile, filler material, etc. The product is used on both horizontal and vertical surfaces (does not glide) and in connection with embedded floor heating cables, cold storage rooms and other places requiring a flexible adhesive with good adhesion to the underlying surface.

Preparation

The surface must be solid and free of any loose particles, dust or other impurities. Absorbent surfaces such as plaster, putty, concrete, etc. is primed using Marlon Primer FL before applying Combi-adhesive (see instructions for use for Marlon Primer FL). Smooth surfaces such as vinyl and paint should be sanded coarse with sandpaper, to ensure proper adhesion to the surface. Any floor heating must be turned off.

Mixing

Mixing is done with a slow-rotating drill with a suitable mixer. It is advisable to pour ¾ of the water in a bucket/tub and then add the dry powder, which is mixed thoroughly while the remaining water is added gradually. Mix well until the mixture is free of lumps and easy to work with. The mixing time is 4-5 minutes, followed by 5-10 minutes of standing and remixing. The tile glue is now ready for use and should be used within 4 hours.

Application

Apply the blended mixture to the horizontal or vertical surface with a steel putty knife or other suitable material. Only apply adhesive to the number of tiles/clinkers that can be laid within about 25 min.; otherwise a film will form on the adhesive. Press and twist the tiles/clinkers down into the moist adhesive, so the back side of the tile is fully covered. Correction of the newly laid tiles/clinkers can, under normal conditions, take place within 15 minutes. Lower temperatures will lengthen, and higher temperatures will shorten the opening and hardening times. Work with tile adhesive should not be performed at temperatures under +5°C or over +30°C. Does not tolerate frost during curing.

Cleaning

Clean machinery and tools with water immediately after use.

Inspection

Marlon Tileadhesive Combi is subject to internal inspection according to Marlon’s quality assurance system. Subsequent measuring and mixing at the site of application is not included in quality control.
