Product description
Marlon Render KC-7H is a cement-based factory manufactured dry mortar product requiring only the addition of water. The product is composed of weight-dosed calcium hydroxide, cement, oven-dried silica sand under 1 mm with a controlled grain curve, and additives that give the mortar viscous and water-repellent properties.
- Decorative and colourfast mortar
- For use indoors and outdoors
- Contains adhesive and water-repellent additives
- Pre-mixed mortar requiring only the addition of water
Marlon Render KC-7H is typically used as a structural plaster on surfaces of concrete, tile, clinker concrete walls and similar places. Marlon Render KC-7H adheres better than traditional mortars and creates a mortar surface that provides excellent protection for the underlying layer of concrete, with minimal moisture absorption. Marlon Render KC-7H is weather-resistant and can be used both indoors and outdoors.
The surface must be wiped clean of any loose material, dust, cement skin, oil, putty remains or other impurities that could prevent adhesion. The mortar is applied to solid, dry surfaces. Newly cast elements can be treated with a retarding agent to render the plastering surface coarse.
To the Marlon Render KC-7H, generally about 21 weight percentage water is added, corresponding to about 5.25 l per sack, followed by effective mixing in a suitable agitator mixer. Manual mixing is done with a low-speed drill with a whisk connected. Add ¾ of the mixing water in a suitable bucket/ tub, add the dry product, and mix thoroughly while adding the remaining water as needed, until you have achieved a workable, homogeneous mortar. To prevent differences in colour, the adding of the water and the mixing time must be the same from mixture to mixture. Do not mix more mortar than you can use within about 60 min. The mortar may not be re-mixed with more water.
The premixed mortar is applied/spread using a steel plate or coarse notched trowel, depending on the surface, layer thickness and task. The thickness is generally between 2 and 5 mm. The finish is done using suitable tools. If in doubt, it is advisable to do a test mixture first.
To minimise the risk of cracks, which can arise when drying is too fast, the plaster layer must be kept damp for 1-2 weeks after application in hot periods. Humidification can be done through nebulisation. It is also important that the treatment be protected from precipitation and frost.
Unhardened mortar does not tolerate frost. The temperature should remain between +5°C og +20°C throughout the curing period.
Clean machinery and tools with water immediately after use. Cured Render KC-7H can only be removed mechanically.
The product is subject to internal inspection according to Marlon’s quality assurance system. Subsequent measuring and mixing at the site of app
